NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/WLNY/AP) — It’s one of the biggest fashion events of the year; celebrities, couture, and art collided on Monday night at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual costume gala.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual Costume Institute Benefit gave A-listers, including Madonna, Anne Hathaway, Gwyneth Paltrow, co-chair Anna Wintour, and honorary chair Beyonce, a chance to flaunt their finest on the red carpet.
As CBS 2’s Emily Smith reported, extreme punk hit the carpet, leaving many asking, “What were they wearing?”
Miley Cyrus, Anne Hathaway and Cameron Diaz were among the celebrities to embrace the punk theme at Monday night’s Met gala, the fundraiser at the Metropolitan Museum of Art that’s affectionately known as “the party of the year.”
